Vibrant Song with Lucy Shelton

Jeremy joins legendary “new music diva” (The Boston Globe) Lucy Shelton for a performance of selected songs from Elliott Carter’s Of Challenge and of Love (written for Lucy in 1994), on a concert featuring a number of her prime collaborators and former students in beloved songs and chamber works. Shelton will reprise repertoire from her 1980 Naumburg Debut Recital (Villa-Lobos, Schwantner), perform songs written for her by Carter and Knussen, and premiere Ives song arrangements with The Westerlies (brass quartet). She will also sing works by Ravel, Rossini, and Schubert. This concert will be a vibrant celebration of Lucy Shelton’s lasting legacy in the world of contemporary vocal music.
